Author reflects on Fremont County-based true crime book ‘Alice & Gerald: A Homicidal Love Story’ [PODCAST]

Ron Franscell carries Wyoming’s influence with him everywhere he goes.

The author and journalist now resides in San Antonio, Texas. Ron grew up in Casper, worked in Gillette for a short time and then moved on to write for the Denver Post. He’s covered everything from small town news to the Middle East in the days after 9/11. Lately, he’s been writing books. 17 of them, so far.

His latest is a true crime story from Fremont County. ‘Alice and Gerald: A Homicidal Love Story’ tells the disturbing story of the couple who killed at least four people, maybe more, and got away with it for decades.

This spring, Franscell held a few book readings in Wyoming including at both Riverton and Lander. The book is still available to check out at both libraries and available at many Wyoming book shops.

Nearly 7 months after the release of the book, Franscell joined the County 10 Podcast to recap the story and chat about some of his new work. He fills us in on his reaction to the death of Alice Uden, one of the stories main characters, and a bit more about his background.
