    At least 8 vehicle break-ins reported in Lander Tuesday morning

    The Lander Police Department was busy Tuesday morning collecting reports of car thefts and break-ins.

    • At 6:43 a.m. a vehicle owner reported their truck was broken into sometime during the night.
    • At 7:10 a.m. a vehicle was reported stolen from N. 3rd Street. That vehicle was later located in Casper, crashed. The damage is estimated at roughly $5,000.
    • At 7:49 a.m. a report of tools missing from a vehicle was reported on Main Street. The tools valued at around $200.
    • At 7:58 a.m. a vehicle break-in was reported on S. 2nd Street. The vehicle owner reported missing $40 in cash and a $20 electronic charger.
    • At 8:04 a.m. a vehicle was broken into on Lincoln Street, the owner reported finding nothing missing.
    • At 10:03 a.m. a vehicle on Washakie Street reported a vehicle break-in and theft of an engine performance tuner. The value of the stolen property was totaled around $500.
    • At 12:10 p.m. a vehicle on Main Street was reportedly broken into. The LPD report says that nothing was taken from the vehicle, but someone had left a “confetti canon party popper” behind in the car.
    • At 2:40 p.m. a vehicle break-in was reported on Garfield Street. A pistol was taken valued at $500.

    An attempt for more information from LPD has not yet been returned.

    LPD did remind residents via a press release Wednesday morning to always lock their vehicles and when possible, keep valuables inside with them, especially overnight.
