Arts in Action’s ‘Day in the Park’ celebrates 42 years on July 13

(Riverton, WY)  Artists, crafters, creators, makers, and vendors in Fremont County and from across the region will once again gather to showcase and sell their handcrafted art in the 42nd Annual Day in the Park held on Saturday, July 13 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Riverton City Park.

Day in the Park has been a well-attended summer tradition and enjoyed by art lovers and enthusiasts, and included as a part of Riverton Rendezvous activities scheduled in July.

All Day in the Park arts and crafts are of original design and handcrafted. Last year, over 75 artists, craftspeople, non-profit organizations, and food vendors participated in the event, which has been a major fundraiser for Arts in Action, one of Fremont County’s veteran arts organizations that has developed, fostered, supported, and promoted artists and the art community for several decades.

“In my career thus far, I’ve taught music in rural towns with as few as 200 people and in areas as large and diverse as the Washington D.C/Baltimore metro areas,” said Arts in Action President Jeremy Cochran, who is also the Instructor of Instrumental Music/Director of Bands at CWC.

“Through that experience, I’ve come to believe deeply that zip- code-of-residence should have no bearing on a person’s access to arts education or to high-quality aesthetic encounters with arts of all kinds. Arts in Action has a long history of improving this access in the Riverton area, and I’m glad to be a part of it.”

Vendor spaces are still available; to register, download the form from their website. Booth space fees are $65.00, and all proceeds are used to benefit Arts in Action programs for the community. Several events are planned through the remainder of 2024 and into 2025. After ‘Day in the Park’, their schedule includes the following:

Arts In Action Local Artist Recital featuring Dr. Brooks Whitmore (piano) and Dan Foster (clarinet) – Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Riverton Public Library Community Room
