    April 12th FCSD #25 meeting recap

    (Riverton, WY) – The Fremont County School District #25 met last night, April 12th for the regular meeting. The evening started with a 20-minute executive session where it was decided to suspend an unnamed teacher for the remainder of the school year. No other details were released during the meeting.

    Under action items:

    The Board accepted the adjusted allocation from the WDE Rural and Low-Income School (RLIS) Grant program in the amount of $10,141.51. The new adjusted allocation total is $63,611.63.

    The Board awarded the bid for the Jackson Elementary and Rendezvous Elementary upgrade to SMART Board MX075 interactive display with IQ, SMART Learning Suite and Wall Mount to The Chariot Group from Anchorage, Alaska, in the amount of $144,335.52.

    The Board approved Change Order No. 1 for the RHS Wrestling Room Addition/TAC Remedy Project with Shephard Construction, Inc. to extend the project completion date to October 7, 2022, due to delays in acquiring the necessary materials to begin construction.

    The Board approved the revised job description for Virtual School Instructor.

    The Board offered contracts to certified staff members on the list for the 2022-2023 school year.

    The Board offered contracts to Linda Adams as an RHS Special Education Math Teacher, Mark Star as a Rendezvous ESSER 5th Grade Science and Social Studies Teacher, Alisha Sears as an Instructional Facilitator, Maggie Hill as a Rendezvous 5th Grade Teacher, and Maci Evans as an RHS Art Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year.

    The Board accepted the grant from the Daniels Fund in the amount of $50,000.00 to be used for the rubberized surface of the Willow Creek Elementary School’s ADA-Compliant Playground Extension Project. The total cost of the project is ~$194,000.

    The Board accepted the resignations of Janeen Buss as a Jackson Speech Language Pathologist and Holly Ann Havens as an RMS Family and Consumer Science Teacher, effective at the end of the 2021-22 school year.

    Another item under discussion was a proposed meal prices increase. Overall, supplies have seen an 8 percent increase with a projected 13 percent increase. A meal price increase has not happened since 2017. The proposed increases range from .50 to $1.
