Foster the next generation of talent – by mentoring a CWC student in a short-term service-learning project at a local nonprofit

by | Aug 21, 2019

Our community is large and wildly diverse, which is at the same time our strength and our weakness. #Activate10 is a movement seeking to increase communication between individuals and organizations across Fremont County and to promote positive action in our communities.

Are you looking for ways to utilize your skills to make a positive impact on your community?

Help us foster the next generation of talent – by mentoring a Central Wyoming College student in a short-term service-learning project at a local nonprofit.

Nonprofits don’t always have access to marketing, HR, technology, or planning resources they need to help tackle their missions and address community issues. Organizations are often understaffed, operating on small budgets, and facing challenges that would benefit from targeted subject matter expertise.

Through a mutual partnership with Central Wyoming College, ServeWyoming is re-launching the Professional Volunteer Network (PVN) Initiative. PVN (AKA Pro Bono) is designed to lead, mobilize and engage Wyoming volunteers and degree-seeking community college students to give their time, professional expertise and applied learning to nonprofits in need of volunteer management and capacity building support, in the form of short-term, training-focused projects known as Service Grants.

Join this network of Wyoming professionals who are committed to driving social change in their communities by donating their time and expertise to help build the capacity of local nonprofits. This is a great opportunity to develop skills, teach others and learn more about the nonprofits in your community.

This Service Learning Initiative is a partnership with ServeWyoming and Central Wyoming College. The goal is to combine our similar interests in increasing local nonprofit capacity by matching experienced professional volunteers with a mentored college student. The two are then paired with a qualified nonprofit for short-term, specific project we call a Service Grant.

If you are interested in applying, please go to www.servewyoming.org and click on “Give Pro bono” or call us at (307) 234-3428.
