The University of Wyoming’s TRiO Upward Bound program is hiring a full-time, benefitted Project Coordinator based in Riverton, WY and serving Fremont County. The UB Coordinator provides services to first-generation and low-income high school students and their families to ensure successful application to and graduation from college.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience: 2 years of work-related experience, such as working with young adults and experience in education.
Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements: Valid driver’s license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy. A successful applicant must have a reliable personal vehicle, which will undergo almost daily use.
Successful coordinators will:
- Recruit eligible and suitable high school participants to the program
- Assist Native and non-Native students to succeed in high school and realize their dreams of completing college
- Identify barriers to college enrollment and help participants to overcome them
- Provide consistent tutoring and other academic services through both personal expertise and a team of educators
- Design and provide weekly enrichment activities to prepare students and their families for college and professional life
- Relocate to Laramie and the UW campus each summer for a seven-week statewide summer program – all living expenses are paid for by the employer
