Riverton Police Department officers are in the process of reviewing security camera footage near Riverton City Park, as they attempt to locate a suspect, or suspects, responsible for an assault that took place either late Thursday, August 16th or early Friday, August 17th.
RPD Captain Todd Byerly told County 10, at about 3:20 a.m. Friday an officer was on routine patrol. The officer noticed a person laying in the park, and upon investigation it was “very obvious they were assaulted,” said Byerly.
Byerly explained there were injuries to the individual’s face and torso.
Riverton Police quickly called for an ambulance. The individual was taken to SageWest Riverton, then transferred to Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.
