Annual Fremont Area Road Tour moves to virtual challenge due to COVID-19

The Lander Cycling Club is hosting the 11th Annual Fremont Area Road Tour from August 1st – 31st. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year the event will be hosted online and will give participants a chance to compete in a month-long virtual challenge.

“I’m so glad we chose to do a virtual format instead of canceling. So many riders are looking for ways to connect and this is just the ticket,” Event Director Gwen Robson said.

Registered riders will be able to participate from any location just by riding their bikes along their favorite routes. Participants will need to track their activities using an activity tracker for verification. Then they will log their miles on the event’s Rider Portal. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and female overall distance, overall elevation gain, longest recorded ride, and best event photos. Riders will have the entire month of August to accumulate miles and can record road, gravel, mountain, or activities from a smart trainer.
