Almost Home Wyoming (AHW) is a volunteer based nonprofit in Lander that works with homeless members of the community obtain permanant housing. They started taking clients in 2018 and have had success with their client cases.
Board Member Melissa Novotny says, “With case management, budgeting and temporary financial assistance, our clients have been able to become successful in maintaining their housing on their own.” AHW has been working with local landlords in Lander for housing opportunities and created a network with community resources to build a safety net for the people in their program.

AHW is funded by community donations, Lander Community Foundation grants and Challenge for Charities. This funding has allowed them the freedom of assisting clients with few limitations. Melissa notes, “Our board has a strong belief in the ‘hand up’ policy and leads with our heart, we are continually amazed by how involved the community is and want to continue to give everyone the opportunity to be a part of what we’re doing.”
Almost Home Wyoming is hosting a meet and greet at the Lander Bake Shop on Saturday, August 10th from 10 am – 1 pm. This is an opportunity for the community to meet the AHW board members and volunteers, ask questions, hear successes and goals for the future. There is also a raffle going on for a Popo Agie Quilters quilt. Proceeds go to Almost Home Wyoming and tickets will be available for purchase at the meet and greet.
