All that bell ringing last month in Lander collected a tidy sum of donations

(Lander, Wyo.) – In a report to the Rotary Club of Lander, Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign member and Rotarian Linda Hudson said the effort outside of Lander businesses this past December was a record year.

Bell ringers from local service organizations, churches and volunteers collected just over $7,500 in cash and coins and another $4,000 in checks, making the total for the season just over $11,000. “It’s the best we’ve ever done,” she said.

Hudson said that 90 percent of all the funds collected stay in the Lander area to benefit local citizens in need.
