All Night Relay Race in Pinedale, Wyoming

(Pinedale, WY) Get those running shoes out and join the Pinedale Aquatic Center for Midnight on the Mesa! Experience the thrill of running the high desert just outside beautiful Pinedale, Wyoming. With a starting altitude of 7285′, you’ll feel as though you are running among the stars during this 12-hour trail running relay.

Beginning at midnight, the first runner for each team will take off under the nearly full moon, complete one lap and hand off to a teammate. The 4 person teams will continue the exchange rotation, with one runner on the course at a time, until noon Saturday. The goal is to complete as many laps in 12-hours as possible! The 4-mile loop will take participants up 375′ to the top of Mount Airy for a spectacular view of the Wind River Mountains towering over the Pinedale valley and the expansiveness of the Mesa before winding down two-track and single-track trails back to base camp. Whether your goal is one lap each or 4 laps each, this friendly relay race is the perfect launch into summer.

The race starts at midnight Friday evening, 6/18/21, until noon Saturday, 6/19/21. Each team will determine a running order and stick with it (Runner A, B, C, D and repeat). Runner A will begin at midnight with a mass start of all 1st runners. Runner B will meet Runner A in the transition tent for the handoff and head out into the night. This rotation will repeat until noon on Saturday. The ultimate goal is to complete, as a team, as many laps as possible… or as many as you want. In the event of an injured runner, one of the other teammates may run in their place. There is a maximum of 40 teams with the prices increasing on May 1.
