#Activate10: WWF hosts Lander Community Cookout and Fundraiser on August 12th

“Our community is large and wildly diverse, which is at the same time our strength and our weakness. #Activate10 is a movement seeking to increase communication between individuals and organizations across Fremont County and to promote positive action in our communities.”

(Lander, WY) – Fewer traditions bring people together like delicious food and a common cause. The entire community of Lander and the surrounding area is invited to the Wyoming Wildlife Federation’s headquarters from 5-9 pm on Thursday, August 12th, for their Community Cookout and Fundraiser.

The team at the WWF is excited to have the community join in their favorite wild game from 2020 in the form of street tacos prepared by Prairie Fire Catering. On the menu will be locally harvested antelope, venison, and elk accompanied by Lander brews.

The event is free to all, though $30 donations are suggested at the door to help cover the costs of hosting the event and support this local nonprofit.

While you chow down on the best free-range meats from Wyoming’s sagebrush and summits, you can visit various booths from companies in the local community. Learn about backpacking from Wind River Outdoor Co., optics for your next hunt from Maven Optics, and how to cast a fly rod from Mark Lambert of Lambert Custom Rods.

If great food was not enough of a reason to bring folks together, there will be an array of raffles to win, including the grand prize CZ USA Upland Ultralight Shotgun.

“This shotgun was made for eager chukar chasers and those pounding the Lander front in pursuit of local upland birds that live there,” according to WWF.

This will also be the first release of limited edition Wyoming Wildlife Federation swag, like a new Go Pokes ball cap, and gear to show off your Hunters for the Hungry pride.

Join the cookout at 115 Valleyview Drive in Lander from 5-9 pm next Thursday.
