#Activate10: Weekend volunteers needed at Eagles Hope thrift store

“Our community is large and wildly diverse, which is at the same time our strength and our weakness. #Activate10 is a movement seeking to increase communication between individuals and organizations across Fremont County and to promote positive action in our communities.”

(Riverton, WY) – A longtime goal of Eagles Hope is to open a thrift store at their emergency shelter located on E. Washington Avenue across from City Park. This store would not only support their efforts but help those in need within the community.

They have been able to open on a very limited, sporadic basis due to low staffing. However, the need for this donation-based thrift store is proving significant in the community.

“Saturday mornings are the busiest,” noted Michelle Widmayer, Eagles Hope Executive Director. “If someone comes to us and is in need, we will work with them.”

Saturday is when she hopes to have some volunteers able to help out at the store so they can open more regularly and better serve those in need.

“We are grateful for the community supporting us in our endeavors,” she said. “This has been an ongoing vision for a couple of years.”

They are actively looking for staff and once they are back up to full capacity, they plan to have the store open full-time.
