Our community is large and wildly diverse, which is at the same time our strength and our weakness. #Activate10 is a movement seeking to increase communication between individuals and organizations across Fremont County and to promote positive action in our communities.

‘The Pepper Family Benefit’ is Saturday, January 18th, from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the Fremont Center located at 1010 Fairgrounds Drive in Riverton. Funds are being raised for the family of Todd and Cambrie Pepper, whose lives were lost in a house fire on December 19th.

Tickets are $15 per person or $50 for a family of four and include dinner. They can be purchased online – individual only or in-person at Brown Co. Riverton, Central Bank & Trust – Riverton Branch, Fremont Auto Reconditioning, and Studio 402.

Folks are highly encouraged to purchase tickets now instead of at the door on the 18th. Pre-sell ticket numbers will help with food planning since multiple restaurants are helping with the dinner, organizer Brigett Bunker shared. “We will be having pulled pork sliders, crab-stuffed mushrooms, bacon-wrapped pickles, meatballs, chips and homemade salsa, mini muffulettas, Natchitoches meat pies, and a few other sides.”

Silent auction items are still needed. They can be dropped off at any of the businesses listed above, where tickets are available for purchase before January 17th. If you have any questions about donating a silent auction item, Brigett asks you to send a message through ‘The Pepper Family Benefit’ Facebook page.

“Bob’s Fire and Safety will be there teaching and doing demonstrations on fire extinguishers,” Brigett shared. Attendees can also sign-up that night with the American Red Cross to have them install smoke alarms in their house for free. There are a few other educational and safety demonstrations in the works for the evening as well.

If you cannot make the benefit but would like to make a monetary donation to the family, you can do so at any of the three Atlantic City Federal Credit Union (ACFCU) locations. The account number is 201907021 and under the name Brigett Bunker-Todd Pepper & Family.

The most up-to-date information about the benefit can be found on the ‘The Pepper Family Benefit’ Facebook page
