#Activate10: Shoshoni library seeks donations to expand services

“Our community is large and wildly diverse, which is at the same time our strength and our weakness. #Activate10 is a movement seeking to increase communication between individuals and organizations across Fremont County and to promote positive action in our communities.”

(Shoshoni, WY) – The town-owned public library is undergoing updates as well as expanding its offerings for community members of all ages.

They are actively seeking donations of preferably newer books and audiobooks. In addition, items that can be used for various activities they hope to offer such as sewing, leatherwork, crafting, etc…

“With little to do outside of school, the library has the potential to be a community destination for kids outside of school if we can offer programs and educational activities,” shared Town Clerk and Police Chief Chris Konija.

They recently added story and craft time for the younger kiddos on Wednesdays at 10:00 am. On Saturdays, they plan to show movies for the older kids.

So far, two sewing machines and a Playstation 4 have been donated for activities. Supplies such as fabric, patterns, and thread would be appreciated. As well as games and additional controllers for the video game system.

A copier and fax machine would also be helpful.

Fundraisers for the library are also planned in the coming months. They include a pancake breakfast, spaghetti dinner, and yard sale.
