#Activate10: Riverton soccer tournament revived to help local economy

“Our community is large and wildly diverse, which is at the same time our strength and our weakness. #Activate10 is a movement seeking to increase communication between individuals and organizations across Fremont County and to promote positive action in our communities.”

(Riverton, WY) – The Riverton Youth Soccer Association (RYSA) is reviving their Rampage Rumble Soccer Tournament this spring to kick-off fundraising efforts to build a multi-purpose field house in Riverton.

The tournament is planned for April 24th-25th and 60-90 teams are expected to participate, RYSA Board President Josh Saltsgaver shared. It’s estimated to bring in well over 1,000 folks into Riverton and the surrounding areas for the weekend.

“Many years ago there was a Rampage Rumble that RYSA put on, but it’s been several years since they’ve hosted one,” he explained. “This is something they [the RYSA Board] decided last fall to do.”

The RYSA Board hopes to drive the local economy by bringing folks into Fremont County for this renewed annual tournament. We want to help local businesses that have helped us every year, Josh continued. “The community should be overwhelmed with shoppers, restaurants should be packed and motels full.”

They are currently looking for volunteers and donors to help with the tournament. If you are interested in helping, visit the RYSA Facebook page, RYSA website, or Rampage Rumble Tournament website to connect with them.

As we mentioned above, this is also a fundraising effort for a multi-purpose field house that has been in the works for over a year. With a “pretty solid plan,” and the location – near CWC – figured out, the RYSA Board is excited to help our local economy.

County 10 will have more details on this planned new addition to Riverton in the next few weeks.
