#Activate10: Online directory in the works for local produce and goods

The Riverton Local Food Hub is developing an online resource for local foods/goods.

It’s May – gardens are getting prepped and seeds are getting planted which means summer is coming, and the Farmer’s Market is right around the corner. However, for those that can’t make it to Farmer’s Markets another option for getting your hands on local produce, is in development.

The Food Hub has been exploring the idea of hosting a directory of local producers, farmers, and ranchers so the community can discover where and what is available to purchase here locally.

Food Hub Board Member, Cathy Rosenthal, told County 10 the directory will be hosted on the rivertonlocalfoodhub.com website as soon as it’s up and running. To collect the data needed, they have released a Producer Survey to learn more about what’s available and if anyone is interested in being listed in this Fremont County-wide directory.

If you are a producer or sell local goods or products (ranging from eggs and veggies to honey or jellies), the Riverton Local Food Hub asks if you’d be willing to take a few minutes to fill out their survey.

Stay tuned, the Riverton Local Food Hub’s Fremont County producer directory should be made available on their website at rivertonlocalfoodhub.com in the near future.
