#Activate10: Local comedians to use monthly show at Tony’s Pizza as fundraising opportunity

“Our community is large and wildly diverse, which is at the same time our strength and our weakness. #Activate10 is a movement seeking to increase communication between individuals and organizations across Fremont County and to promote positive action in our communities.”

(Lander, WY) – What do you get when you cross Tony’s Pizza, local comedians, the home-brewed creations of Micah Wyatt, and a night of free, laugh-filled entertainment?

Home Brewed Comedy Night, that’s what.

While that answer may not make you laugh right now, the folks behind the Home Brewed Comedy Night aim to supply the chuckles every last Friday of the month.

The brainchild of Tony’s Pizza owner Adam Kirkpatrick, home brewer Micah Wyatt, and local comedian Vince Tropea, Home Brewed Comedy Night was created in the hopes of fostering a consistent comedy scene in Fremont County that could also function as a community fundraising opportunity for local non-profits… but with beer.

The first show kicked off on April 17th, with 7 comedians performing brand new material for a small yet eager crowd.

Jack FM’s Charene the Adventure Queen and Murray Ritland hosted the first night, while Micah Wyatt passed out samples of his delicious new Pilsner. By the time headliner Vince Tropea finished his set, the laughs, beer, and donations were flowing like wi- sorry, beer, flowing like beer.

ENCOURAGED to make fun of the beer?!?

The first non-profit to receive donations from the event was the Lander Food Bank, who will be the recipients of a nice chunk of change.

Anybody interested in giving stand-up comedy a try in front of a forgiving crowd, as well as any non-profits looking for a fun fundraising opportunity, should reach out to Kirkpatrick at Tony’s Pizza.

(Just a friendly reminder, Home Brewed Comedy Night is NOT kid-friendly, so make sure to hire a sitter!)

The next Home Brewed Comedy Night is scheduled for May 28th, but mark your calendars for May 5, when touring comedian Rio Hillman headlines a special Cinco de Mayo show at Tony’s Pizza that you won’t want to miss!

    Cheers!
