#Activate10: Lander & Riverton Chambers partner with 105.1 Jack FM to promote local businesses

“Our community is large and wildly diverse, which is at the same time our strength and our weakness. #Activate10 is a movement seeking to increase communication between individuals and organizations across Fremont County and to promote positive action in our communities.”

County 10 has been working hard to promote local businesses and partnerships by sharing stories and compiling resources for readers while everyone copes with the new reality that COVID-19 has sprung on our community.

One such partnership has developed through 105.5 Jack FM and both Lander and Riverton Chambers. The Chambers are boosting their members by running ads promoting them during this difficult time. While many businesses are reducing their expenses, the Chambers are stepping in to help them while they’re in such a tough spot.

“Some of our members have had to pull back or cancel outright their advertising efforts. We thought we’d help them out by running some ads on their behalf,” said Owen Sweeney, Executive Director of the Lander Chamber. The Riverton Chamber Executive Director, Ashley Strickland agrees, “We understand this is a trying time and are working to support our members as best we can.”

Jack FM has put together unique ads that will highlight several small businesses at once. Each time a message runs (20 times per day), 6-7 businesses will be highlighted. This effort will continue for at least 30 days.

Murray Ritland, the owner of Jack FM, has always been a strong supporter of shopping local. “I’m a local small business owner myself. I live here and work here and these businesses are both my clients and many are my friends. I started working with County 10 to promote shopping local and thought this seemed like a natural progression.”

The Riverton and Lander Chambers, along with 105.1 Jack FM and County 10 encourage you to #keepitlocal whenever you can during this time, so all our favorite local places are still around when we all emerge from isolation and life returns to normal.
