#Activate10: It all started with a free lemonade stand

“Our community is large and wildly diverse, which is at the same time our strength and our weakness. #Activate10 is a movement seeking to increase communication between individuals and organizations across Fremont County and to promote positive action in our communities.”

(Riverton, WY) – A kick-off and brainstorming session to create a Youth Entrepreneur Program is happening Thursday, September 30th, at 5:30 pm in the Riverton City Hall Council Chambers.

A program to spur the creativity and entrepreneurship of our local youth was a wish of the late Brett Watson. His vision stemmed from one kiddo’s free lemonade stand this past June and wanted to see stands all across Riverton.

The Riverton Ambassadors, a local group with a mission to move the city forward, is working to see Brett’s wish to fruition and they need the community’s help.

A few current thoughts about the program include kiddos learning how to put a marketing plan together, figuring out their product, and the cost they plan to sell their product at – maybe older kids could mentor or local organizations help with this process.

A parent or community sponsor – the “bank” – would help them get off the ground and once the summer is over they would pay them back and could pocket their profit.

Again these are just some of the current thoughts about the program. The Riverton Ambassadors need community help to get things off the ground.
