#Activate10: Homebrewed Comedy Night to raise funds to help fight food insecurity

“Our community is large and wildly diverse, which is at the same time our strength and our weakness. #Activate10 is a movement seeking to increase communication between individuals and organizations across Fremont County and to promote positive action in our communities.”

(Lander, WY) – Homebrewed Comedy Night, the monthly Lander-based comedy night that combines free comedy and free craft beer, will be having this month’s show next Friday, February 18th, at Tony’s Pizza, starting at 7:00 PM.

This month’s fundraiser is for Meridian Trust Federal Credit Union, who will be collecting funds for the Lander Care and Share Food Bank for the entire month of February.

(While the show is free, attendees are encouraged support the monthly fundraiser.)

Charity Cowling, the Vice President and Branch Manager, stopped by 1330 KOVE AM / 107.7 FM’s Coffee Time recently, and informed host Vince Tropea that if the bank reaches its goal of $5,000, Lander Mayor Monte Richardson has agreed to kiss a hog, and who DOESN’T want to see a local elected official embarrass himself for a good cause!?

The brainchild of Tony’s Pizza owner Adam Kirkpatrick, home brewer Micah Wyatt, and Lander comedian Vince Tropea, Homebrewed Comedy Night was created in the hopes of fostering a consistent comedy scene in Fremont County that could also function as a community fundraising opportunity for local non-profits… but with beer.

In addition to the free laughs provided by the normal crew of misfit comedians (and maybe a couple of special guests), Wyatt will also be providing free samples of his homebrews “A-Bomb IPA” and “It’s Finally Snowing Festivus Ale.”

A reminder, Homebrewed Comedy contains subject matter that is definitely not kid friendly, so be sure to hire a sitter.
