(Wind River Reservation, WY) – Local nonprofit Grow Our Own sprouted out of the pandemic in 2020 to help combat food insecurities on the Wind River Reservation and surrounding areas.
They have continued to expand their mission by providing necessary supplies, gardening education, and so much more. Looking ahead at another year, they are preparing for spring planting.
Over the last few weeks, volunteers have been hard at work building 150 garden boxes for the community. These boxes were funded by donations and a Wyoming Hunger Initiative grant.
Through the month of March, the garden boxes will be distributed to participants who have signed up. If you are interested in a box, a waiting list is available. You just need to contact them through the Grow Our Own Facebook group or on their website.
There is also a survey available for folks interested in an in-ground garden. More information is shared below.
