The Brian Waits Benefit Cornhole Tournament is happening on Saturday, August 29th, at Union Bar & Grill in Hudson. Brian was hit in Riverton while driving his motorcycle home from work on July 21st.

The tournament begins at 5:00 pm; registration and food serving start at 4:00 pm, Brian’s girlfriend Sonya Heil shared. “Food will be served all night long or until it runs out. Teams in the tournament eat for free.”

56% of Brian’s body was burned in the wreck and he is still at the burn center in Denver and is expected to be there another 3-4 months. The money raised will be used for medical and travel expenses.

Below is a message from Sonya about the fundraiser:

Svilars and the Union bar/Anderson family have generously donated the food! The Anderson family is smoking the brisket, as well as preparing mac & cheese and baked beans as sides. One of their relatives is from Louisiana and is preparing homemade jambalaya as well! Fremont Motors has so graciously donated drivers and vans available for the whole night! They will do pick-ups and drop-offs anywhere in the Lander and Riverton area. Ryan Hickerson has generously donated the boards for the tournament! And his daughter Shelby made the flyers for the event. There will also be silent auction items available to bid on throughout the evening. A HUGE thank you to everyone!!! Come on out for a great cause, great food and a great time!
