#Activate10: First Stop Help Center provides financial assistance for local residents in need

Our community is large and wildly diverse, which is at the same time our strength and our weakness. #Activate10 is a movement seeking to increase communication between individuals and organizations across Fremont County and to promote positive action in our communities.

During this time of economic crisis, the First Stop Help Center in Lander is providing financial assistance to many local residents who are experiencing hardship.

Lander, Hudson, and Wind River Reservation residents may be eligible for help with their utility bills, as well as rent or mortgage payments. Also, diapers for children, bags of toiletries, and cleaning products are available. In addition, the Help Center distributes vouchers for meals at local restaurants provided by Trinity Episcopal Church.

Local residents are encouraged to call the First Stop at (307) 332-2877 or email [email protected] if you need help.

Applications can also be taken at the door Tuesday through Thursday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. First Stop Help Center is located in Trinity Episcopal Church at 860 South 3rd Street in Lander.

We are very grateful to the generous people of Fremont County who have made donations to help their neighbors impacted by COVID. If you would like to help in this way, please consider sending your contribution to The First Stop Help Center. Your contribution is nontaxable.
