#Activate10: Family of local man with leukemia raising money for medical expenses

“Our community is large and wildly diverse, which is at the same time our strength and our weakness. #Activate10 is a movement seeking to increase communication between individuals and organizations across Fremont County and to promote positive action in our communities.”

(Fremont County, WY) – Nick Brown was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia two years ago and after a short time in remission, it has come back, according to his mom Francene Shakespeare.

His family has organized both a hunting package raffle and food sale this month.

Nick is a single dad and has spent the last several months in Denver at St. Luke’s Medical Center receiving treatment. He is scheduled to have a stem cell transplant later this month thanks to his sister who is a match.

Saturday, September 4th, the Shakespeare family will be selling meals such as soups and frybread, hamburgers, hot dogs and more in Ethete. Full details are on the flyer below.

They have also organized a hunting package raffle with items from Rocky Mountain Discount Sports. Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $20. The drawing is happening on September 30th. Contact info to purchase raffle tickets or to see the items is shared on the flyer below.
