#Activate10: Class of 2020 banners line Lander’s Main Street Sunday morning; celebration parade planned

Our community is large and wildly diverse, which is at the same time our strength and our weakness. #Activate10 is a movement seeking to increase communication between individuals and organizations across Fremont County and to promote positive action in our communities.

Banners for each student in the class of 2020 from Pathfinder High School (PHS) and Lander Vallery High School (LVHS) were hung on Main Street today, May 10th. Small groups of family members dedicated their mornings to see this celebration to fruition. They will be on display through May 29th. You can read more about the banners in our previous post.

A few of the organizers behind the banner celebration have also planned a parade to celebrate the grads from PHS, LVHS, and the Wyoming Catholic College (WCC) on Friday, May 15th, during the Friday Night Cruise.

The parade begins at 7:00 pm on Friday night, shared organizer Patti Massey. Students will drive from N 1st Street and head westbound toward LVHS. Escorting them will be the Lander Volunteer Fire Department and the Lander Police Department.

During the parade, KDLY 97.5 FM will announce the names of all the grads from LVHS, PHS, and WCC. The community is invited out to line Main Street and celebrate the grads, Patti shared. She also asks that everyone maintain social distancing protocol.

Not confirmed yet, but the hope is following the traditional Friday night football field lighting at 8:20 pm, there will be fireworks in the softball field area near LVHS.
