Abraham Thomas’ cover of ‘Oh Holy Night’ will get you in the holiday mood [VIDEO]

One year ago, County 10 highlighted Fremont County-native Abraham Thomas.

Thomas was widely known to Fremont County as the “menacing defensive tackle” on the Riverton High School state championship football teams in the late 90’s. Though he played football at RHS, he attended St. Stephens High School before they had a football team, thus allowing him to play for the Wolverines.

Those who were close to Abe remembered him for his generosity and kindness more than his football success.

Thomas told us that he relocated to Utah in 2005 searching for better things in his life. He found them, but he explained it didn’t come easy. Thomas recalled being homeless for three months, bouncing around jobs, and becoming unsure about the future. Ultimately, Thomas found steady work, got married, and together, he and his wife now have four children.

Abe told County 10 last year that music remains one of his biggest passions. After a bout with anxiety and depression, Thomas re-dedicated himself to his music career in 2018. He described his depression as a, “dark chapter of life” but that inspired his song ‘Love me Today.’

The video and song have been watched and listened to thousands of times on multiple online platforms. Many have reached out to Thomas in the comments sections thanking him for inspiring them through music during their difficult times.
