(Cheyenne, WY) – Wyoming Highway Patrol was notified of an active AMBER Alert out of Colorado just after 11 pm on July 14th.
The suspect, 28-year-old Alexander D. Martinez, had reportedly taken his one-year-old daughter and allegedly threatened to kill her and himself in a car crash.
The Westminster Police Department in Colorado reported that Martinez was headed towards Wyoming via I-25 and was eventually located near Cheyenne by a WHP trooper.
The child was found safe inside the vehicle and was released to authorities in Colorado to be reunited with family.
Martinez was arrested on a warrant from Colorado, which included charges of domestic violence, felony eluding, child abuse, reckless driving, reckless endangering, and violating a protection order.
The incident is still under investigation.
