SageWest Health Care is proud to be a part of Fremont County. Our team is united by the belief that great communities – like Lander, Riverton, the Wind River Indian Reservation and surrounding areas – deserve great healthcare. This is why we strive to provide the highest quality care possible – both inside and outside our hospital walls – and are committed to our region’s overall well-being as we seek to achieve our mission of Making Communities Healthier.
Achieving this mission would not be possible without the dedication and hard work of our physicians, employees, volunteers, and board members; and the support of the patients and family members, employers, community leaders and others who believe in making our community healthier now and for future generations.
While there is a misperception locally that our services are shrinking,
they are, in fact, growing.
8 new employed and affiliated providers were added to SageWest in the last year.
And currently, we are aggressively recruiting physicians in the following specialties:
- general surgery
- obstetrics/gynecology
- neurology
- internal medicine
- hospital medicine
Our interventional cardiology and endovascular/general surgery programs are great examples of programs that will keep people in our communities!
Tele-Health: the future of rural health care
Later this year, we will begin offering tele-stroke and tele-psych services on both of our campuses. Expanded radiology expertise in mammography, nuclear, ultrasound, and other modalities also will be available by year-end.
Constantly investing in our hospitals. In 2018…
We made more than $500,000 in capital improvements
Invested in a surgery department remodel and new equipment, a c-arm X-ray system and spouse sleepers for our women’s health unit.
We also distributed a payroll of $27.1 million to 355 employees and continued to create an environment where talent is recognized, job satisfaction is valued, and everyone can effectively use their skills to provide high-quality care and service.
Additionally, in support of our belief that everyone deserves quality care, regardless of their ability to pay, we donated $6 million in services to those in need.
Collaboration
Our region is making great strides in developing a healthcare infrastructure that ensures that all of our residents have access to the quality care they need close to home.
We need to focus our efforts on collaboration and supporting one another in expanding the vital services we do not yet have. We all have important roles to play in making this happen.
The SageWest teams and board of trustees remain committed to working with the Riverton Medical District Board and others to achieve that goal.
