    9 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Fremont County; likely all connected

    UPDATE @ 3:00 pm on March 20th from Fremont County Incident Command Team: Minutes after publishing the first release of the day for (03/20/2020) Fremont County Public Health Officials were notified that a 4th individual is now hospitalized at Sage West Lander due to complications of a Covid 19 illness.

    The Fremont County Incident Command Team (FCICT) and Local Public Health Officials were notified of 1 new confirmed case of COVID-19 in Fremont County. The newest confirmed case is an individual who has been hospitalized and in isolation at SageWest for a number of days.

    Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) wrote in an email to County 10 about the 9th case, “The patient is an older woman, hospitalized, and likely connected to the other cases previously identified in your county.” While there was no report sent out, the WDH tracker moved from 7 cases reported in Fremont County to 8 cases yesterday, March 19th. WDH shared, “I do know the one yesterday [March 19th] is also connected to other cases.” The case tracker by county can be found on the WDH website by clicking here.

    The total count for those hospitalized in Fremont County due to COVID-19 stands at 3 confirmed cases, according to FCICT’s release. They continue to work with State and Federal partners to secure needed equipment and PPE for area Hospitals and Health Care Providers. Currently, supplies on hand have been sufficient to meet the needs of area providers with more supplies on the way.
