Kaleb Simonson and Maggie Heller took top places in the 7th annual “Run Like A Bighorn” 10K race in Sinks Canyon on Saturday. The race began at 8 am on Saturday at the Sawmill campground and ended with a new course record set by Simonson.

37 runners and hikers competed for gift certificates from Wild Iris for the top three men, women, and youth finishers. Other runners had the chance to win classes from Ananda Yoga and Elemental Fitness. The Lander fitness community was well represented with runners and hikers spanning from ages thirteen to sixty-one.

“We are so grateful to everyone who came out to support Sinks Canyon on Saturday,” said Park Superintendent, Jamie Simonson. “From the runners to the sponsors to the spectators, it was clear that people were there because they realize Sinks Canyon is such a special place.”

Sponsors for the event included the Sinks Canyon Natural Resource Council, the Central Wyoming Climber’s Alliance, Wild Iris, Elemental Fitness, Ananda Yoga, Mr. D’s Grocery, and Meridian Trust Federal Credit Union.
