7 years ago today the Lander Community and Convention Center was destroyed by a fire.
Lander fire crews determined an electrical issue with the center’s front porch lights started the June 28th, 2012 fire.
While the fire caused the building to be a complete loss, there were no injuries in the blaze. A dog was initially feared to be lost in the fire but was later found away from the scene.
Lander residents quickly rallied around building a new, 19,000 square foot, a facility that was open for business in 2014.
