7 volunteers turned out for spring cleanup of WAA

(Riverton, WY) – On March 28th, seven volunteers picked up the 170 wreaths laid last December for the 2020 Wreaths Across America (WAA) event at Mountain View Cemetery.

“Many hands make light work and the cleanup went very quickly and cheerfully in the fine weather,” shared WAA Location Leader Karl Falken.

“The live balsam wreaths looked quite handsome decorating the graves of our departed veterans in last winter’s snow; but it was time to retire them and make way for Flags For the Fallen coming up in May.”

Deanna Booth and Tricia Burwell of the Wind River VFW Auxiliary 3628 scoured the cemetery for scattered wreaths while Doug and Cindy Thompson and Charles and Nancy Ginsberg collected wreaths in the main area near the VFW monument. Falken assisted and hauled the wreaths off in his pickup for disposal.
