About a 1.5 mile hike from the Bruce’s Bridge parking lot in Sinks Canyon State Park is Popo Agie Falls.

The falls are beautiful and well worth hiking too, even if you don’t want to go for a dip. But, several years ago some thrill seekers discovered that the rocks make for a perfect natural slide into the body of water below.

A couple of cautions, don’t do this if it isn’t hot out. The water is freezing, you don’t want to walk 1.5 miles back wet and cold. This may sound obvious, but a change of clothes even in the summer is usually a good idea. And please, make sure you take care of yourself and those around you if you decide to jump in. Basic water safety and swim-knowledge are a good idea. It is a long way from help, and for any city-folks reading this, there aren’t lifeguards on duty.

Last year, Shelli Johnson wrote a great article for Wind River Country about the slide and her adventures in the Sinks!
