Just after 8:00 am on January 8th, 2021, Wyoming Highway Patrol was dispatched to a fatal one-vehicle rollover near milepost 201 on I-90 east of Sundance.
60-year-old Eric Carbaugh, of Beulah, was driving westbound on I-90 when he lost control of the truck on the icy and snow-covered roadway, according to WHP. The vehicle exited the road and entered the median, where it overturned.
Carbaugh was not wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. Driving too fast for road conditions is being investigated as a possible contributing factor.
This is the 3rd fatality on Wyoming’s roadways in 2021 compared to 1 in 2020, 3 in 2019, and 1 in 2018 to date.
