$3200 raised in local ‘Venmo Challenge’

(Lander, WY) – Tammy Green and Chris Dailey helped multiple families this holiday season after raising $3,200 in their own social media Venmo Challenge.

They began the challenge a few weeks ago as a way to give back to the community. Knowing that folks are not just struggling with buying gifts, but also with paying bills. In total, they helped 11 individuals, Tammy shared.

The money went to those in the community with a different kind of need, single moms, and people that work hard in our community, she continued. “One boy that we paid it forward to, just wanted to say goodbye to his grandpa and didn’t have enough money to get gas to drive to Casper.”

They both shared their appreciation for all of the contributors who supported this effort.

This challenge through Venmo, a mobile payment service, became popular this year through the video-sharing social media platform TikTok after a person raised over $1,000 to tip a server at a restaurant. You can read more about how it came to be here.

Way to go, Chris and Tammy! Thank you to all of the contributors as well!
