All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Charles Lambert, 30, of Fremont County, is facing the following charges:
- 1 count endangering children – felony, has a maximum penalty of imprisonment for no more than 5 years, a fine of no more than $5,000 or both
- 1 count possession of a controlled substance – misdemeanor, has a maximum penalty of imprisonment for no more than 12 months, a fine of no more than $1,000 or both
Court documents describe Lambert being pulled over by a Riverton Police Department Officer for allegedly not having license plate lamps on his vehicle the evening of August 11th, 2019.

Lambert was unable to produce a driver’s license, proof of insurance nor vehicle registration during the traffic stop. Lambert was asked to step out of his vehicle because he did not have “any of the documentation required to operate the vehicle.”
The RPD Officer advised Lambert his vehicle would need to be towed and the two passengers would need to exit the vehicle as well. One of the passengers being a juvenile.
Prior to being towed an inventory of the vehicle was conducted. During the inventory “…a digital scale and ashtray, both with a white, powdery residue” was found in the backseat and “…a small zip-lock baggy also with a white, powdery residue” was found in the center console. All items were field-tested and came back “presumptive positive for methamphetamine.”
Lambert waived his preliminary hearing on August 21st, 2019. The case is being transferred to District Court for arraignment.
