All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Jordan Isis, 30, of Fremont County, is facing one count of aggravated assault and battery, one count strangulation of a household member, one count reckless endangering and one count domestic battery.
The charges are related to a domestic violence report which is alleged to have occurred in a Riverton residence on May 18, 2019. On June 3rd, 2019, Isis’s case had a preliminary examination and is being transferred to District Court.
Court documents describe a violent physical assault in which Isis bit and kicked the victim, and obstructed the victim’s breathing. Isis also allegedly held a knife to the victim’s throat prior to police arriving at the scene. The victim reported a short blackout, lack of feeling in the legs and difficulty breathing as a result of the alleged assault.
The responding officer noted bruising on the resident’s lips consistent with being poked in the mouth by a finger and a red rash-like bruise around her neck consistent with being placed in a headlock.
Isis is being charged with:
- One count aggravated assault and battery (felony) has a maximum penalty of imprisonment for not more than 10 years.
- One count strangulation of a household member (felony) has a maximum penalty of imprisonment for not more than 10 years.
- One count reckless endangering (misdemeanor) has a maximum penalty of imprisonment for not more than 1 year.
- One count domestic battery (misdemeanor) has a maximum penalty of imprisonment for not more than 1 year, a fine of not more than $750 or both.
