    2nd suspected suicide reported within a month at Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution

    21-year-old John Tygart died Thursday, November 26th, 2020, from a suspected suicide at the Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution in Torrington, according to a November 27th release from the Department of Corrections.

    Tygart was originally convicted of child abuse in Laramie County on September 24th, 2020, and was sentenced to 2-4 years by District Court Judge Campbell.

    Nearing a month ago, 33-year-old Cody Zack died of a suspected suicide on October 29th at the Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution. No additional information has been released about this earlier incident by the DOC.

    Both deaths are under investigation by the Torrington Police Department Coroner’s Office. As required by department policy an autopsy has also been ordered.
