(Rock Springs, WY) – At around 6:30 am on September 28th, Salt Lake City resident Samuel S. Roberts, 29, died in a one-vehicle rollover near milepost 9.1 on the I-80 Service Road east of Rock Springs.
Driver fatigue is being investigated as a potential contributing factor, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) release.
Roberts was westbound on the Service Road when he failed to negotiate a curve to the left which caused him to exit the roadway and overturn.
He was wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to injuries at the scene of the crash.
This is the 85th fatality on Wyoming’s roadways in 2021 compared to 100 in 2020, 123 in 2019, and 84 in 2018 to date.
