Due to a medical emergency, the 21-gun salute was unable to happen as planned this year. However, the ceremony continued with the playing of “Taps” by local Veteran Doug Newlin and ended with “Amazing Grace” played by Melissa and Henry Bautz, of the Lander City Fire Department Pipes & Drum Band.
