    2 Wyoming Cowboy wrestlers qualify for NCAA Tournament

    (Laramie, WY) – The NCAA Division I Wrestling committee announced Tuesday that Wyoming wrestlers Chase Zollmann (141) and Jacob Wright (157) have received at large bids to the 2021 NCAA Championships.
     
    With the bids, the Cowboys will send a total of seven wrestlers to St Louis, Mo., on March 18-20 for the tournament. The duo joins Cole Moody (165), Hayden Hastings (174), Tate Samuelson (184), Stephen Buchanan (197) and Brian Andrews (285), who qualified with their placing at this past weekend’s Big 12 Championships. 
     
    The at-large selections were made using the following selection criteria: head-to-head competition, quality wins, results against common opponents, winning percentage, RPI, coaches’ ranking and conference tournament finish.
    Zollmann and Moody will be making their first career trip to nationals, Wright and Buchanan head to nationals for the second time in their careers, while the trio of Hastings, Samuelson and Andrews will be appearing in their third straight national tournament. 
     
    Seeding and brackets for the NCAAs will be unveiled during the NCAA Selection Show on NCAA.com, Wednesday, March 10th at 4 p.m., MT. Brackets will be sent out and posted on NCAA.com at the conclusion of the show.
