(Fremont County, WY) – Fatal crashes near Fort Washakie and between Riverton and Shoshoni occurred this weekend, according to reports from the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP). Both were single-vehicle rollovers.
Around 5:00 pm on Friday, April 9th a rollover on North Fork Road was reported. BIA’s preliminary report states the driver, who they identify as 28-year-old Kylee Juneau, overcorrected after drifting off the road which caused the vehicle to roll. A seatbelt was not in use; driver inattention is listed as a possible contributing factor.
On Saturday at around 8:45 pm, a crash was reported on US-26/WY-789 between Riverton and Shoshoni. WHP’s preliminary report states the driver, who they identify as 43-year-old Tyler Spencer, lost control of the vehicle and exited the roadway which caused the vehicle to roll. A seatbelt was in use; speed is listed as a possible contributing factor.
