    2 arrested for weapons offense in Dubois on April 15th

    Two Dubois men are in custody in regards to a weapons offense in the area of Kelsey Street in Dubois, Fremont County, Wyoming, according to a release from the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO). The FCSO was notified of several gunshots in the area of Kelsey Street near the river at around 8:30 pm on April 15, 2020.

    Deputies arrived and contacted one of the individuals involved and heard another series of gunshots down the street. The second individual was contacted and a tense standoff ensued with the individual firing at least one more shot from inside his home. Deputies were able to de-escalate the situation and convince the man to surrender. Deputies were assisted by Wyoming Highway Patrol Troopers during the incident.

    Both men that were involved were arrested for reckless endangering with other charges pending. Deputies were able to ascertain that the two men were angry with each other but it is unknown if they were purposely shooting at each other or not. The exact circumstances as to why the incident occurred are not yet known.
