(Fremont County, WY) – The first round matchups for 1A/2A basketball are out. The full bracket is on the Wyoming High School Activities Association website. Five Fremont County teams will be competing in hopes to be called state champions.
The first round games are down below.
Boys 1A
- Dubois vs Hulett 1:30 p.m.
- Game will be played at the Ford Events Center.
- Seeking their first title since 1994 after going back to in 1993-1994.
Girls 2A
- Wyoming Indian vs Tongue River 9 a.m.
- Game will be played at Natrona County High School.
- Have seen each other 14 times at state.
- Lady Chiefs looking to four peat as state champions starting since the 2019 season.
- St. Stephens vs Moorcroft 10:30 a.m.
- Game will be played at Natrona County High School.
- Looking for their first title since their lone state championship season in 2016.
- First time in the 2A state tournament since moving up into class 2A in 2019-2020 season.
Boys 2A
- Wind River vs Wright 1:30 p.m.
- Game will be played at Natrona County High School
- Looking for their third title since 2015. Won their last one in 2017.
- Shoshoni vs Pinebluffs 7:30 p.m.
- Game will be played at Natrona County High School
- First time Shoshoni has been in the State Tournament since 1997 snapping one of the longest drought in Wyoming high school basketball.
- Looking for their first title since 1988.
- Last match up at state in 1988 in the consolation semi finals with Shoshoni winning 53-44.
