    17-Mile Road fires on Saturday consume one structure; no injuries reported

    Saturday afternoon, June 27th, grass fires were reported in the 1100-1200 blocks of 17-Mile Road. There were five different fire start points in the area, Riverton Fire Department Chief Henri DeClercq shared.

    The exact acreage of the fires has not been confirmed by GPS mapping at this point, but “well north of 100 acres,” DeClercq explained. One structure was a total loss and was reportedly unoccupied.

    As of today, June 29th, there is no confirmed information on how the fires started. DeClercq noted that there were three more fire start points around the 200 block of 17-Mile Road reported by Fremont County Fire.
