    16-year-old dies in crash west of Riverton; Passenger injured

    A 16-year-old Fremont County woman, Triston Addison, has died after a one-vehicle rollover just west of Riverton city limits early Saturday.

    At 3:55 a.m. Saturday morning the Wind River Police Department, Wyoming Highway Patrol, Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, and Riverton Police Department along with EMS personnel responded to the accident on US 26 between Airport Road and Valley View Road.

    According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Addison died after being transported to SageWest Riverton. A female passenger was injured and airlifted to a hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. A passenger injury update or identification was not provided.

    According to the Highway Patrol report, Addison rolled a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe after failing to negotiate a curve at a high rate of speed near milepost 129. The vehicle continued into the barrow ditch before rolling back near the roadway.

    Neither of the occupants were wearing a seatbelt. Both occupants were ejected from the vehicle.

    The Wyoming Highway Patrol says excessive speed and alcohol are being investigated as possible factors in the crash.
