(Dubois, Wyoming) – 15-year-old Jacob New was diagnosed with leukemia at age 7. After several tough years, Jacob is in total remission today.
The South Carolina hunting enthusiast teamed up with 307pursuit, Holy Pursuit Foundation, Hunting with Heroes, Muley Fanatic Foundation to make one of Jacob’s bucket list items come true. A mule deer hunt in Wyoming.
“It’s bigger than anything I’ve seen in South Carolina, I can promise you that,” Jacob told the RADCast Outdoors Podcast about the deer he harvested.
New said that the toughest part of the hunt was getting used to the rugged Wyoming wilderness, “we don’t have terrain like you have, it’s pretty country. The snow is what killed us and the wind.” He also said hunting around 9,000 feet above sea level was not easy to get used to. “We got air where I come from, you can’t breath out here.”
