One downtown Riverton business owner told County 10 that they appreciate athletic events such as this one, “these tournaments really help our community economically. These teams fill our hotels, the kids and parents eat at our restaurants and shop at our stores.”

The same group of high schools will be participating in a girl’s basketball invitational this weekend in Casper. That field includes the Riverton ladies.

Lander’s boys and girls are also split this weekend. The girls are in Lovell for the East-West Classic, while the Tiger boys play in Buffalo.

Wyoming Indian and Shoshoni begin their year at the Burns Winter Classic. St. Stephens and Dubois are in Hanna and Encampment for the Carbon County Classic, and Wind River is participating in the Bridger Valley Tournament in Lyman and Mountain View.
