    117 active COVID cases reported in Fremont County; 8 hospitalized

    The Fremont County Incident Management Team has released the following statement and statistics today, October 7th.


    Current Statistics for Fremont County COVID-19:

    • 739 Total Tested Positive (96 probable)
    • 117 Active Cases in Fremont County (up over 50% from previous month)
    • 17 Cases positive last 24 hours
    • 14 Deaths due to COVID-19
    • 5% Percentage of positives to total tests
    • 8 Current Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 (August average was <1)

    Wyoming Public health is alerting the public to a new upward spike in positive cases for COVID-19 during the last two weeks in Fremont County. The occurrences of outbreaks continue to be from enclosed social gatherings, schools, small offices, places where health measures of distancing, and masks are not followed. It is understandable that the public is weary of the same message, but the health guidance measures are for the public benefit and continue to be strongly encouraged.

    If you are socializing or working inside with groups, please maintain 6 feet of separation minimum, wear a mask, and continue sanitation discipline. Also please call public health at
    (307) 857-3677 or (307) 856-6979 if you have symptoms.

    Disease symptoms which may appear 2 to 14 days after exposure, include fever, cough, shortness of breath of difficulty breathing, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat and new loss of taste or smell. Older residents and people with certain health conditions have a higher risk of developing more serious illness.
